Lunapads

It’s taken several months to complete the stunning new version of our beloved website, but she finally launched yesterday. It has been quite an adventure that has brought up some interesting challenges and growth for everyone involved. The process has even dragged me, a realtive neo-luddite, into the back-end workings. What a great confidence-builder exercises like this can be. You see, at the end of 2005, Suzanne and I were faced with the choice of either adding endless bits and pieces to our existing site, or to bite the bullet and put out for the full-on latest and greatest e-commerce platform. At the time we analogized it as either getting our respectable beater of a car forever serviced or going for a new BMW. BMW it is, and girl, is she fast and pretty and smart as all getout (though admittedly, this image doesn’t quite do it justice).

Experienced visitors to our site will have no doubt about where they are - we still speak the language of pink, use real photos of ourselves and of course still sell the same lovely Lunapads, but we are hoping that new customers will find the shopping and information gathering processes easier and more intuitive. We’ve also updated our Resources section, as well as adding 2 new shopping sections: Comfort, essentially a collection of favorite bits and pieces (including organic chocolate!), and Clearance, where super deals can be had on discontinued merchandise. Big call-outs to our ever level-headed Suzanne who kept us all together when things were getting a little crazy, Sandra and Marie-Genevieve, our new in-house site superstars, the ever-loyal and brilliant Emira and Lauren of Raised Eyebrow Web Studios, and the latest “men with pads” at IdeaLever. We are definitely not in e-Kansas anymore, so come on down the yellow brick road with us to see how we’re getting all grown up! And, tell us what you think of the new site!
