Say hello to our first guest blogger!

I am a Lunapads user for about 3 years now. I guess if you thought there was a certain look to a cloth pad user, I would break the mold. I am a stay-at-home mom to 2 kids, minivan driving, totally non-hippie looking woman who enjoys all kinds of active and fun sports and really enjoys shopping!! At the time I made the switch, I was a tampon only gal and the thought of pads invoked visions of high school nightmares of crinkling, leaking and wet, smelly diaper-feeling pads. But the tampons (organic cotton) were really causing a lot of problems for me——constant yeast infections, terrible cramps, awful dryness and ovulation pain so bad I could not get off the couch a full week after my period ended!! I first heard about cloth pads from a friend probably a year earlier and was horrified—-I thought it was such a ridiculous and gross idea! But with all my problems I was getting worried, and when I typed in a search about tampons being bad for your body on the internet, cloth pads came up. In fact, at the time, Lunapads was one of the first companies that came up. So I read the whole website and all the testimonials, but it was really the awesome colors and prints that sold me. I ordered a couple of sets of maxis and minis, and well, the rest is history.
It took a bit of getting used to, even with the softness, after using tampons for so long as I was not used to feeling my flow and was constantly afraid of leaking through the pads. But with the right combination of liners, I learned to use the pads properly and now I would never, ever go back to disoposable products!! In fact, when my daughter got her period a year ago, we sat at the computer and she picked out the cute prints for her Starter Kit—-Rainbows, Kitties, Pink Poodles and Leopard! She just mentioned to me the other day that her favorite thing about her Lunapads is that they are repositionable. She had used a disposable and could not believe that you could only stick it once! Her friends know she uses cloth, and she is totally comfortable with it. I own other brands of cloth pads, but Lunapads are truly my favorites because the fleece is SO soft, it absorbs so readily, the pads are so trim and professionally made and the prints are just so darn cute!! Lunapads have made my periods—-something I previously just tried to forget about and plug up—into something I look forward to getting—I get to choose what color and print I feel like that day and I have no pain or dryness anymore! Thank you Lunapads—-and where were you 15 years ago!!

I received three lunapads hankies a year ago as a gift, and have been enjoying them ever since. As someone who has used hankies for about 10 of my 27 years, I can honestly say that I haven’t come across other handkerchiefs that are as soft or as thick and durable. They have weathered well under even my most severe colds and flus.
The person who gave them to me as a gift embroidered them as well, which was a great way to spice them up.
Thanks, Lunapads!
