We love our customers, and we’re lucky enough to know that lots of you love us too! In fact, it’s your spreading of the Lunapads word that is one of the very best forms of advertising and has helped build the success of this company. Telling your friends & family also helps build greater community among women who share our values. With that in mind, we have a campaign to reward all you lovely Lunapads enthusiasts. Help us spread the word about Lunapads and receive a surprise gift package from us!

Here’s how you can participate:

1) Got a blog or website? Share a personal story about your experience with our products, and post it along with one of our ad buttons (see below). Once you’ve published our button and your testimonial, email us the link to your entry and your mailing address. To post one of our ads on your website, simply copy all of the code in the field directly to the right of the image you prefer and paste it onto your blog or web site.

2) Don’t have a blog? Be a guest blogger here! We want to hear your Lunapads story - who you are, details about your lifestyle and interests, how you heard about Lunapads (or the DivaCup), what got you interested in trying them, and what your experience has been like using them. Email your submission plus a photo of yourself to blog@lunapads.com. (We reserve the right to edit or decline your submission, but if we do post it to the blog, you will receive a free Lunapads gift pack.)

3) Get creative! Customers have promoted Lunapads at health fairs and women’s events in their communities, as well as other more “guerrilla” marketing efforts such as putting up a Lunapads poster in full view of the passengers on Chicago’s “L” train. What’s your idea?

The Boss of You is here! As many of you are aware, we are huge fans of our fabulous web designers, Lauren Bacon and Emira Mears of Raised Eyebrow Web Studio. Not only are they talented web designers (no bias here!) but they are also brilliant writers and have written a fabulous (it’s just how they do things, fashion included) book, the Boss of You: everything a woman needs to know to start, run and maintain her own business (Seal Press), now available at Amazon.com, or better yet your local (preferably woman-owned bookstore.

We love this book for so many reasons: the witty-yet-brisk tone that is a perfect balance of inspiration and practicality, the numerous examples of women-owned businesses defying conventional business practices and having the courage to succeed on their own terms, and last but not least, that we now have the perfect book to recommend to all the gals who come to see us for business advice! - I almost forgot to mention that we happen to be one of the businesses profiled, which we are beyond chuffed about. We actually had the opportunity to gush about them live at the book launch party (see photo) the other day.

Because we think every budding (or new) woman entrepreneur needs to read this book, we’re having a contest to win an autographed copy (well, actually three of them!) Thanks to all of you for your patience with us while we navigated our first-ever video contest. After some delays and much discussion, we have a winner! Congratulations to Beth Pentney, who won us over with what we call the “Sarah Harmer Clothesline” video. While it was not an easy decision, Beth managed to hit on some key Lunapads references, notably by choosing Sarah Harmer’s “I am aglow” as the theme song. As it happens, Sarah Harmer could basically be considered the Lunapads “house” artist - we love her music so much, listen to it all the time, and even all went for a staff field trip to one of her concerts here in Vancouver last summer. So points for that, but we also really loved the clothesline idea, making the statement that Lunapads (and by extension, your period) are nothing to be ashamed of, the red bra (!!!) and of course her cat’s cameo.

It was not an easy choice, and we deeply appreciated aspects of all the other entrants’ submissions - those who stepped up to the plate and starred themselves, did amazing makeup jobs, were “hysterically” (hysteria being the ancient Greek work for uterus, in case you didn’t know!) funny and of course showed off their Lunapads and DivaCups!

Beth has already collected her $250 worth of Lunapads.com’s finest offerings, but rather than have our customers vote for the top 3 of the remaining 5 videos, we thought that we would simply extend the offer of $100 worth of products to all the entrants. We think that you’ll agree that they are all fantastic in their own ways, so going to the trouble of ranking them seems silly - this way, we all win!

It’s time to have some serious fun with our menstrual activism, don’t you think? There have been recent stories of how some big name companies are having their customers make ads for them, and showing them during prime time TV - even the Superbowl. Ladies, what do you say? We just know that there are at least dozens, if not hundreds of super-creative, totally tech-savvy gals out there who could come up with something, funny, fabulous, political and gorgeous - just like you.

We think it’s about time to do away with the silly ads for menstrual products that encourage us to either hide our periods, be embarassed by them or that haunt us with that strange blue fluid. Time to let real women be heard. To that end, we’re launching a contest to get you, our beloved customers to make your own ad for Lunapads.com!
