Meet the Lunagals: Sara

Wednesday, January 6th, 2010 by Sara

I suppose I should take the time to introduce myself before another year flies by! I’m the youngest of three and grew up in a small suburb outside of Vancouver. My mum, an avid crafter and quilter, introduced me to the world of creative and I knew at a very early age what my passions were.

I attended the Emily Carr University, formerly the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design, immediately after high school and began to experiment with textile-based work and feminist thought. After graduating and taking some time off from art making I am now stitching and drawing up a storm!

Meet the Lunagals: Morgan

Morgan

Well it looks like I am next on the role call! I found my way to Lunapads in December of 2007 and have been quietly learning the ropes without so much as a squeak in terms of blog-writing so I guess its time I introduced myself.
I grew up on an organic farm in the sleepy little town of Metchosin BC on Vancouver Island. If nearby Victoria is known for its population “Newlyweds and Nearly-Deads” then Metchosins’ handle would be something like “Sheep Farmers and Old Timers”.
Childhood consisted of a lot of tearing around outside, playing with/ running away from farm animals and absorbing my parent’s vast knowledge of organic agriculture. At a very young age I tried my hand at growing my own food and was very successful. I still do it to this day when my living situation permits it.

Meet the Lunagals: Lisa

Wednesday, February 28th, 2007 by Lisa

Why, hello! Lisa here, resident web wizard. I’ve been the newest addition to our covey for quite a while now, and thought it high time I peep up and introduce myself.

I was born an only child in Quebec, and raised in a rapidly sprawling bedroom community of southern Ontario. There, I spent my young days merrily climbing its garbage mountain, swimming its fake lakes, aimlessly wandering its strip mall parking lots, and creating my own fantastic dream world out of the so-called tedium that surrounded me.

Meet the Lunagals: Madeleine

Madeleine.jpgI am so excited to be here writing to all you wonderful women who do us the honor of being curious about who we are and what we do. A few brief biographical details about me before we move on to more interesting topics: I was born and raised here in Vancouver, and love the city of my birth passionately. I attended University in Ontario prior to doing a lot of traveling and working abroad. I am an enraptured parent to Genevieve (or Miss Milk, as she is commonly known), who was born on April 10, 2005. I am married to her Dad, a very sweet man called Tim, who is an incredible source of love and support to me. Some other random personal tidbits: I am a left-handed Capricorn with a wicked sweet tooth who is also a proud reformed smoker, tennis enthusiast (although I refuse to keep score), novel-reader, armchair fashionista and sewing fiend.

Meet the Lunagals: Suzanne

Monday, June 5th, 2006 by Suzanne

Hey Lunagals everywhere, here is my intro to the blogosphere. It’s exciting, as I’ve often fantasized about blogging  so that I could share with others the story about the birth of  my boys and my personal journeys.  Plus, I really enjoy reading a few friends’ blogs as well as lurking in the local motheringdotcommune discussion boards. But, I never got around to creating my own blog. So, Lunapads’ foray into the world wide blog is my chance! And it’s been really fun learning how to use the blogging tools and writing stories and comments on what is going on in my mind.

I was born and raised in Victoria BC by immigrant parents from China who moved to Canada looking for a better life.  I moved to Vancouver in the early 80’s to attend university and get a business degree and become a Chartered Accountant…

Meet the Lunagals: Gonie

Goni.jpg
Ever since in my life, I haven’t put my mind to a blog or thoughts surrounded my self, because in my reality, as a human being I will exist through my belief to my passion, which is my work satisfaction. I’ve been encouraged to blog about myself, when I’ve heard such words or stories from my co-workers about Lunapads’ foray into the worldwide blog and it ignited my enthusiasm and curiosity to the concept!
